Here’s one way you might make better hiring decisions – candidate auditions.
Our clients all want to make the best hiring decision possible. One way that our clients have been having some great success is by having a “Candidate Audition” as one of the interviews.
That’s right…have them audition. Take them on a test drive. Nothing shows you more about how someone performs than to have them do an example of their work for you.
It can take a couple hours, half a day, a whole day, or a couple days…but make them prove their skillset to you.
My customers who utilise this very rarely have a mis-hire. Nothing seems to be a better indicator of skill than the audition.
For some positions, it’s a little difficult to come up with ways to hold an audition, but for most jobs, with a little creativity, we can work with our clients to come up with ways to hold an audition.
This process not only gives you an indication of how they do their job, but gives you an idea if they are engaged, have the “grit” and want to impress you and do what it takes to get the job.
Let me know if I can help you set this up in your process. It’s free, fairly easy, and is a really fantastic tool.
