Field Service / Equipment Technician.

SALARY:  $80,000-$120,000

If you are a hands-on, mechanically inclined technical person that loves being involved with a wide variety of projects, and love to troubleshoot here’s the job for you.  Our client is film manufacturer that produces a competitive alternative to shrink wrap machines, in stretch hood films.  They are looking for a well-rounded and very mechanically inclined person to visit clients and help set-up, troubleshoot, and repair stretch hood problems at their site.  The position will primarily focus on traveling East of the Mississippi River as that is where most of the customer base is located. When not traveling, you will work as a resource for the department, helping troubleshoot over the phone or input into new projects.

Responsibilities of the Field Service / Equipment Technician:

  • Located next to a major airport for frequent travel (50-70%)
  • Provide support for stretch hooder machinery at customer sites.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers throughout the U.S. (no sales component, but potential bonus upside)
  • Assist in building new proprietary machines, with a primary focus on controls. 
  • Central data collection from machinery/equipment/automation
  • Electrical and Mechanical Documentation.

Field Service / Equipment Technician Required Skills and Experience

  • 4 Year Degree in Engineering or similar related field preferred
  • 5+ years of directly related stretch hooder experience. (Shrink wrap equipment considerations)
  • Located next to a major airport for frequent travel (50-70%)
  • Hands-on plastic production experience.
  • Someone who loves to troubleshoot and fix all types of machinery problems.
  • Someone who loves to dig in and get their hands dirty.
  • Willingness to interface with customers and work as the face of the company.
