REGIONAL SALES MANAGER – PLASTICS TOOLING AND MOLDING EQUIPMENT

SALARY:   Base $100,000-$140,000 with additional bonus upside for meeting targets.

Location:  West Coast. Can be located anywhere, but territory will be CA, OR, WA, AZ, NV, UT, and CO.

Urgency:  9/10.  Very urgent.  Working with the owner to fill the job and he would love to have the person in place as soon as possible. 

Possible Industry Experience/Target Markets:  This company manufactures solutions for tooling, mold components, and state-of-the-art monitoring devices and software. You will be calling on mold makers, molding companies, and OEM’s using injection molding. 

People with experience selling; hot runners, heater bands, temp sensors etc… to plastic processors is ideal.

POSITION SUMMARY:  The primary purpose of this position is to grow the sales for this organization through the development of new customers.  Creating customized presentations for customers, explaining products, and customer visits is what this person will spend the bulk of their time doing.  Strong prospecting, sales, and closing skills are needed, along with the desire to be on the road most of the time generating  sales.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approximately 80% of this person’s time will be spent developing new customers.  
  • Approximately 20% of this person’s time will be spent growing current customers, working with existing reps on accounts that have reps.  
  • As this person succeeds, their role may expand into the following areas:
  • Developing additional manufacturer’s reps (as appropriate)  to help grow the business.  The Regional Sales Manager will manage their activities, as well as foster growth through new key account development.
  • Lead development and marketing of proprietary products for the company.
  • Suggest marketing materials and ideas to help in the sales efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years experience in an environment that would develop a technical understanding of injection molding field
  • 5 years of proven ability to successfully develop new clientele and grow sales in a custom-product environment; selling custom solutions as opposed to selling products. 
  • in the ability to earn a significant portion of their wages in the form of commission.
  • 4-year degree preferred, but will consider a great proven sales history in lieu of education.
  • Prefer experience developing proprietary products for new markets (not required)
