Sr. Electrical Engineer

SALARY:  $120,000 – $140,000

The  Sr. Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible for providing engineering to support plant projects and the maintenance and reliability programs on-site. This position reports to the Operations Services Manager. 


  • Identify, develop, and execute capital/expense projects that proactively improve the safety, reliability, operability, capacity, and cost of the plant operations. Provide high-quality design, scope, and cost/schedule estimates that are consistent with our commitment to continuous improvement
  • Perform the project management function for the execution of capital projects
  • Provide support for reliability improvements based on reliability program metrics
  • Provide higher level electrical and instrumentation maintenance assistance in the day-to-day operations of the department and operations
  • Provide construction management assistance for project work performed by plant maintenance personnel and contractors
  • Initiate and support new maintenance and reliability processes
  • Provide technical training to maintenance/production departments to improve their understanding of electrical equipment systems
  • Participate in hazard identification, reduction, and implementation of instrumented protective systems


  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience 
  • Experience in project development, design installation and startup
  • Experience with design, installation and maintenance of industrial power, lighting, and control systems
  • Experience with medium voltage (13.800V) switchgear and distribution systems
  • Experience in programmable controller and process control systems
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment function and design, chemical processes, regulatory requirements and PSM Mechanical Integrity. 
  • Knowledge of technical & manufacturing equipment specifications
  • Proficiency in the use of CAD software
  • Understanding and experience working in an OSHA Process Safety Management facility
  • Experience utilizing World-Class Project Management systems and disciplines
  • Experience with engineering project systems
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite and SharePoint
  • Strong planning, organization, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work with limited direction and manage multiple tasks at a time
  • Chemical plant or refinery experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP is desirable
