SALARY:  UP TO $77,000

Summary:  The Tooling Supervisor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Tool Shop and all extrusion tooling design for new products, product improvements, and re-building of tooling.  This is a great opportunity to join a growing and well-funded organization committed to customer service.

Manage the design and development of custom extrusion tooling.

  • The Tooling Engineering Manager is a key player on a small and focused management team.  
  • You will be a hands-on manager of all Engineering and Tooling, including: product development, tooling design, tooling manufacturing, tooling procurement (if or when purchased outside), and tooling development; closely involved in all areas.  
  • The Tooling Engineering Manager is responsible for all new product tooling and development, and will be challenged with improving output and reducing scrap on current tooling.  
  • The Tooling Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and growing the internal tool shop and its capabilities.

 Desired Qualifications for Tooling Engineering Manager

  • We prefer that the Tooling Engineering Manager has a BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree, but we will consider experience in lieu of degree. 
  • The Tooling Engineering Manager should have 5 years in a role of Tooling Engineer or Tooling Engineering Manager, with experience in the design, procurement and tuning of custom extrusion tooling, window profile tooling or other similar extrusion tooling.  Experience with both rigid and cellular (foam) profiles is preferred.
  • The Tooling Engineering Manager should have 3 years of hands-on processing ability on (ideally) both single screw and twin-screw extruders. 
  • The Tooling Engineering Manager will be responsible for design, and will need to assist in design from time to time.  Preference for computer skills to include efficiency with Autocad and Solidworks (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of wire EDM 
  • Experience managing outside tool shops to control costs and deliver excellence.
